Eagles lose the grip against RC
Antonians ran into the Royalists at Royal Sports Complex this weekend with big expectations having literally trounced the Weselytes in their previous outing. In fact, all the Antonian fans were hoping for a cracker as Royal too was unbeaten so far in the league. Antonians started off just as expected with drawing first blood pulling a try breaching the strong Royal defense.
Though Royal was quick on the trail to match up with a try, Antonians was always one step ahead of the Royalists and it was paid off with an impressive 15-5 at the breather. However, in the second half, Royal College ran rout on the park demolishing the Antonians’ hopes of a famed win. Just when the Eagles thought they had their prey, Royalists pulled a remarkable 30 points in the second half while the Antonians only managed to score a solitary penalty. The final score read 35-18 in favor of the Colombo lads. Antonians did put up a very impressive game in the first half, but they were outclassed by Royal yet again.
Antonians face the Isipathana College in their next encounter.
