Astronomical Society
The Astronomical Society was inaugurated in 1996. The first President was J. Ekanayaka. The committee of year 2003-2004 had organized a Astro Night for the First time in the society's history, named as "STARRY NIGHT". The Chief Guest of this was Dr. Chandana Jayarathna (Senior lecturer of physics and cosmology, University of Colombo). It was held on 18th of July 2003. 17 Schools participated in this event. Astro Quiz Competition was held in connection to this special event.

Activities
2002: Astro Day with lectures by Prof. Nalin De Silva with the participants from other schools
2003: Observation Camp in the night with the lectures of Dr. Chandana Jayaratne
2005: Observation Camp on 25th Feb with the participation of college students with the lectures from students
2005 Observation Camp:
The observation camp was held on 25th Feb with the participation of the grade 7,8,9 students. Co-currently, an observation camp was held for the students of St. Anthony's too. On the 25th night, Mr. Viraj Thanthrige, from the previous commitee conducted a lecture in the upper auditorium and it was continued till mid night. The students had a good view of the Jupiter, Saturn, and moon. President, Nuwan Seneviratne also delivered a speech.
This year, Astro Society expects to conduct the annual Astro Day. Donating a telescope to the college, and printing of a booklet on Astronomical Science is among the plans to be worked out.
