Sinhala Cultural Society

Sinhala Cultural Society was founded in year 1933 under the patronage of Rev. Fr. D. Lawrence Hyde. People who involved in the inauguration include Rev. Fr. Hyde himself, Mr. W.A.T. Banda, L.D.M. Perera and M.B. Pethiyagoda.

During the last 25 years, Sinhala Cultural Society has achieved many. Among them, the first place in All Island Raghadari contest, First place in All Island Poetry contest, First place in Mangul Bera performance are only a few.

Among the best products of St. Anthony's who saw the light through Sinhala Cultural Society include the author - Mr. Sena Thoradeniya, Winner of 2004 government prize, Mr. Senarath Linayangolla ( Asst. Secretary - State Security Ministry), Mr. Sunil Sirisena (President, State Film Corporation), Dr. Patric Nugawela (Economic Consultant), Mr. Jananka Ranatunga ( Deputy Director- Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation)...
