The inaugural get-together of the Association, based on Univeristy of Peradeniya was held in June 2002 at Hotel Suisse- Kandy, with the participation of Rev. Fr. Hilarion Fernando - Principal and senior staff members. Mr. D.D. Elkaduwa of Faculty of Engineering elected as the first President of the Association.
